3 Bohemian Czech towns in two days

Bohemian Czech towns

There are so many great Czech Bohemian towns to explore. There is way more to see in the Czech Republic than Prague. It can be hard to just pick a few. A little over a month ago, I spent some time exploring Ceske Budejovice, Cesky Krumlov and Hluboká.

This particular trip was awesome because I met up blogger friend Kristin from Countdown to Friday. I feel like within this blogging world, we meet a lot of cool people via the Internet. There’s this culture of supporting one another. I absolutely love it! I had met Kristin from the fashion blogger community maybe about six months ago. We both collaborated with blogger Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood on a Winter Wedding collaboration last January. So I met Kristin this way and from time to time, we chat about blog stuff. I also featured her twice: once in my expat series and once on Women around the World.

So this particular weekend, we met in person. We explored a few towns in the Czech Republic, ate good Indian food, shot blog photos for each other (so wonderful as we both know what sorts of the photos the other wants) and just had a good time getting to know each other. Oh and she brought her dog! I miss my dog a lot, so it was great to meet him too!

Ceske Budejovice

We met Saturday afternoon in Ceske Budejovice. I found it very easy to take the train from Prague directly to Ceske Budejovice.

I simply used this application called GoEuro. Have you heard about it? I love it. It compares the bus, train and airplane prices and times from one point to another. In this case, the train was just as much as the bus. So I opted for the train. It took about two and a half hours to reach the town. From there, I walked about 15 minutes into the center of the city.

This view is amazing, right? How did I get this view? Well we climbed to the top of this tower. It’s called the Black Tower and there’s a super old bell inside of it. At the top, you can see all of the city.

The dress was a Modcloth find from over a year ago. When it came time to pack for Spain, I sadly did not have room for this one. I left it back in the United States with the tags still on. I had missed it all year, so when I was home, I was sure to bring it with me.

Cesky Krumlov

This is one of the most touristy towns in the Czech Republic, after Prague of course. The only downside was the massive amount of people. People seem to love this town because it looks like a medieval village. There’s a castle and many things to explore there.

This day was rainy. The Czech Republic can have rainy weather in the summer, so I would advise people to just be prepared when traveling there. An umbrella and a good pair of shoes is important. I, however, was wearing sandals. I am notoriously bad a checking the weather.

So I wore this …

What to do in Cesky Krumlov

There are lots of things to do in this wonderful town. I’d say the main thing is to see the castle. Here are a few helpful places and websites:

If you walk up in the area around the castle, there’s a spot where you can catch this view. It’s amazing.

We stopped in a little shop for a coffee and a strudel.

Last stop

After we visited Cesky Krumlov on Sunday, we stopped by the Hlubolka Castle for a bit. We unfortunately did not have time to go inside. However I have been told that it’s one of the most amazing castles in the entire country.
