Hello! I’m so glad that you’ve decided to stop by. My name is Nina and I’m the voice behind A World of Dresses. This blog is for the every day woman who wants to look fabulous and make the world a better place. The woman who believes that the power we hold together is greater than us going at it alone. I’m an American girl in her late 20’s who lives in Spain as an English teacher. When I’m not teaching English to cute Spanish children, I can be found traveling, exploring and practicing my Spanish.
This blog started with a dress … that thing that women around the world have been wearing for centuries. For about the past 6-8 years, dresses have been a part of my every day style. Several years back, I counted over 50 in my closet and thus decided to take a dress challenge. I would simply wear a different dress each day for the entire month and document the journey on social media. It was just for fun and I had lots of it! My friends and family also had fun watching it. The following winter, I discovered Dressember and decided to again take the dress challenge. This time, however, it would be to do something bigger than myself. Dressember is a campaign in December where women raise money for organizations working to end human trafficking. I loved that my dresses could help do some good. I raised a total of $510 that year!
Basically, I’ve been known as the dress girl amongst my friends and on social media. I’m ALWAYS wearing a dress. Fall 2015, one of my friends (and I honestly cannot remember who. If it was you, please let me know so I can give you a shout-out!) told me to start a blog about all my dresses. I liked the idea and let it sit in my head for a bit. What if I use dresses to connect and empower women? So I went for it and here we are!
On here you’ll find all things related to dresses, women’s empowerment, world travel, self-love and style tips. I want you to know that you exactly as you are is beautiful. I love that as a blogger, I get to be the media. I hate that mainstream media tells women that have to loose weight and be a size 0. So as a blogger, I purposefully feature women of all ages, shapes, sizes, etc.
I know you’re probably busy out doing what you love, smiling and making the world a better place by just being you. You probably don’t have time to check in every day, so why don’t you subscribe to our e-mail newsletter? Each week I send out a little re-cap of the past week … the posts, the photos and the deals. You don’t want to miss out:
Also, a few fun facts about me:

- One of my biggest life goals is to travel to as many countries as I can. I have 10ish so far if you count the Vatican as it’s own country and a layover in Qatar.
- I want to add another language or two in the mix. Thinking maybe Icelandic or French next …
