I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Prague is a little bit weird. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always enjoyed every Prague visit. However the city has this sort of quirky charm and the modern Prague hotel Meet Me 23 just proves it even more.
Located right next to the Hlavní Nadrazí train station (where you can catch trains to cities and towns all over the country and region) and within minutes of Old Town Prague, this hotel could not be in a better location. However it’s location, while excellent, is not what makes this place loveably quirky. Instead the blue men are what make you do a double-take when you arrive.
It all starts with the entrance where one of the blue men’s image is projected while he talks to you about Prague. His voice kind of reminded me of that guy who told you to stay in school and not do drugs. Then as you make your way through the hotel, you find more blue men. I think Tobias Funke from Arrested Development would have been quite pleased.
The room
One thing I really liked about Meet Me 23 were the room options. We stayed in sort of a mini-apartment with a full kitchen, TV and couch. However if something like that is out of your budget, they also have dorm rooms starting out around 26€/night. I loved that they had something to fit everyone’s budget.
Our room was on the 6th floor, so it had these skylights that let natural light into the space. It really lit-up the whole space. Also practically-speaking, I loved that it had a kitchen. To save money, we bought some groceries and cooked a few meals there. The only downside was that the kitchen was missing a strainer for pasta and a corkscrew for wine.
The bathroom space was clean and easy-to-use. I hate when showers are complicated, so I was happy that this one was easy to figure out.
When you went through the doorway, there was a room with a bed that slept two and lots of closet space. I slept very comfortably the three days that I spent there.
Breakfast every morning
This modern Prague hotel offers a breakfast buffet every morning with eggs, meat, beans, pastries, juice and coffee. Overall, I was content with the breakfast each morning. It filled me up.
Meet Beer: the restaurant downstairs
If you’re getting a bit hungry and don’t want to go far, you’d be happy to know that there’s a restaurant underneath the hotel! Meet Beer has quite a great selection of beers and burgers! We went there during our first night and were quite pleased.
The common spaces
This modern Prague hotel has a lot of great common spaces to gather in. I know I took advantage of them when I wanted to get some work done.
The rooftop
One of the best perks of being a blogger was rooftop access. They let us up on the roof to take a pictures.
Have you been to Prague? If not, is it on your European bucket list?
