This is my easy Portland dress. I actually bought it on my first trip to Portland, Oregon four years ago. It was January and I was browsing the Buffalo Exchange, a famous Portland thrift/vintage shop. I remember thinking that it was comfortable and I liked how unique it was. The buttons that line both sides on the chest and torso section give it sort of a nautical look. It has a comfy material and it’s black. You can never go wrong with a little black dress. And of course my regular readers know how much I love a good LBD.
So I bought it in the dead of winter and wore it a ton. I mean this has been my go-to dress ever since. This past year though, it was packed away in a box that I forgot about until several weeks ago. It was like Christmas opening a box of dresses I had forgotten about. I was so happy to have my favorite LBD back in my closet again.
The easy Portland dress
This week, I am exploring Portland, Oregon with one of my best friends. She asked me to plan a trip for her back in February and I said yes with the only stipulation being that I get to come along. I had only been once and was excited to experience Portland in warm weather. So we booked it and here we are!
As I was packing, it only seemed fitting to pack my easy Portland dress. After all, why not?
What I look for in a good travel dress
I absolutely love to travel. In this next year, I’m going to be teaching English in Spain. My plan is to blog about all my travels. Over these next few weeks, you’ll see all of my Portland adventures.
When traveling, comfort is important. I always opt to wear a dress when traveling in nice weather. It’s just so easy. Here are my tips:
- Choose something comfortable
- Choose a breezy material
- Choose something you know well
