Do you know the feeling of looking out your window and feeling like you’re in a fairy tale? While this isn’t what I would consider to be a part of my everyday life, I got to experience the life royalty when I went to Dresden, Germany. You see, when you stay in a Dresden historic center hotel, all you have to do is take a peek our your window.
At the beginning of March, I met up with blogger friend Alex from East Coast Contessa in Germany for five days. In addition to visiting the famous capital of Berlin, we decided to add Dresden to our visit. This lesser-known city is full of charm. Our stay at the Vienna House made our visit to Dresden all the more enjoyable.
Location location location
Location is ever so important when traveling. When you have just a few days in a city, you want to ensure that you maximize your time. No one wants the extra hassle of adding in time to take the train here or there.
The great thing about Dresden is that the city center is walkable. So a Dresden historic city center hotel like the Vienna house is the perfect place to stay!
Here is what your walk from this Dresden historic center hotel looks like:
- Frauenkirche (Cathedral Dome): 2 minutes
- Martin Luther Statue: 1 minute
- Dresden Transport Museum: 1 minute
- Royal Palace: 5 minutes
- Zwinger Palace: 7 minutes
- The Opera: 8 minutes
Additionally there are many restaurants and shops right near the hotel.
The room
Alex and I each had our own rooms. I must say that mine was quite spacious and comfortable. It included both a shower and a bathtub. However my favorite part was the view of the square below.
A full breakfast selection
I love hotels that have a large breakfast selection. For us, the Vienna House did not disappoint. They offered us a wide selection of fruits, breads, yogurt, eggs, bacon, meat and other breakfast delights.
And on the way out …
Anytime you have to end vacation is a sad day. However check out was a very easy process. They had the cutest little parting gifts.
