Finding the biggest tapas in Granada is not something done with the snap of your fingers. Granada, Spain is known for serving free tapas with a beverage. It’s super exciting to go out to eat in Granada because you can literally just fill up on tapas. However not all tapas are created equal. In my two years living in Granada, I found a few spots where you can find the biggest tapas in Granada.
The tapa you get served at these places is the size of one meal plate. It’s amazing because you can eat an entire meal for around 5 euros. Here are four places where I got the biggest bang for my buck (or I should say euro).
The biggest tapas in Granada, Spain
1. El Peruano
This place is popular, so make sure you arrive early if you actually want to be able to enjoy their large tapas. I would suggest arriving a little bit before 2 p.m. for lunch and around 8:30 p.m. for dinner. It’s located right in the middle of where the university students live, so it gets packed quickly.
I always ordered the rice and chicken. However there are other options including vegetarian ones. It’s located on a street with lots of other tapas places, so you could try out a few other local spots as well.
2. La Brasilia
This restaurant was right by my house, so I ended up there a lot. Also whenever I went out with my flatmates and their friends as a big group, we always ate there. They have lots of outdoor seating and offer some of the largest tapas. It’s amazing when you can get full and only spend 5 euros, drinks included.
My favorite thing to get was the burger. It was a chicken hamburger with fries. They also have a fajita that was amazing and some other very filling tapas.
Here we all were for my roommate Esther’s birthday:
If you live in Spain or are planning to move to Spain, I highly recommend you go out with a huge group of Spaniards as much as you can. It’s the best way to get that immersion experience. Also they will take you to some of the best spots!

There are two locations within a 2-minute walk of each other. I really don’t know why they’re so close, but both are always busy. This one in general has more seating. Both have the same exact menu.
3. El Nido Del Búho
This was another one of my favorite spots for tapas. It was right by my house, so I went kind of frequently. They always serve you a plate of olives in addition to your tapa. There are photos on the wall of each tapa, so if you don’t speak Spanish well, you can have a general idea of what you’re getting. Pictured below are two separate tapas: tortilla de patatas (famous Spanish dish) and a chicken kebab. I was full after eating both of these. Again, dinner (including drinks) for under 5 euros!
4. Cervecería ECU
This place is on the exact opposite end of the city. However it’s right next to a metro stop, so it’s pretty easy to get to. Finding the biggest tapas in Granada will give you quite a tour of the city! In addition to huge tapas, this place also serves a wide selection of beer. That’s rather rare to find in Spain. Most places just have one kind of beer on tap and maybe a few other types in bottles. However this place has quite the selection.
I don’t believe you can choose the tapas at this place. This is what they brought us and it filled me right up! This was for two people, by the way.
Well there you go. Those are four of my favorite places to grab tapas in Granada. They all have some of the biggest tapas in Granada. I’m sure there are other spots in Granada with big tapas as well. In fact, if you know of one not listed here, feel free to leave me a comment below!
