A Historic Polish Salt Mine and How We Explored it

Several months ago, I found myself about 327 meters below ground clad in a red dress, Chuck Taylors (well knock offs haha) and a jacket exploring a historic Polish salt mine. Boy, I was glad I had that jacket. As you can imagine, anywhere that deep would be rather chilly, even in summer.

Our day started with an early wake up call. When visiting a place that over a million people visit every year, getting there early to beat the crowds is important. Alex from East Coast Contessa and I got an Uber out there from our rental apartment in Krakow, but you can also take public transport. In fact, we ended up taking a bus back into the city when we finished our tour.

A Local Krakow Food Tour You Will Want to Go on

It started with a beer and it ended with some cheesecake. If it were a typical food tour, I probably wouldn’t have to tell you much else. However when you take a local Krakow food tour with Urban Adventures, it’s always so much more than your typical touristy tour that hurdles you from one overpriced restaurant to another.

I’ve been on tours with Urban Adventures in London, Budapest and Prague, so I was excited to see how they did things in Krakow when I visited the city back in early June. I had a rough knowledge of Polish cuisine, but there was a lot I could learn. So Alex from East Coast Contessa and I went on the Food by Foot tour.

The Perfect Krakow Holiday Apartment

If you’re looking for something in between a hostel dorm and a 5-star luxury suite, a holiday apartment might be just the thing you need! When I went to Krakow, Poland a few weeks ago with my blogger friend, we stayed in the perfect Krakow Holiday Apartment!

The apartment is rented out by the Secret Garden Hostel. However don’t let the name fool you because Secret Garden is not your typical hostel. For starters, none of their rooms are dorm-style. So for those of you who feel a bit anxious to share your space with strangers, you don’t have to worry! Their room options range from a single room all the way up to a two-bedroom apartment that could sleep up to six people. Alex from East Coast Contessa and I stayed in one of their two-bedroom apartments!
